In today’s fast life, people are facing a lot of heart diseases, with each disease having its unique way of treatment. Some of the common heart diseases include congenital heart defect, cardiovascular disorder, cardiomyopathy, etc. And the common ways of getting well from these diseases are taking appropriate medicines, cardiovascular exercises, change of diet and lifestyle. The final option is Heart Surgery.

If you are stricken with heart diseases due to birth defects (congenital heart diseases), catheter procedure, use of some dedicated medicines may help you. Often it is recommended to opt for open-heart surgery. In some cases, you have to go for heart transplant, provided a blood match for you is found.

For treating diseases related to blockage of arteries, i.e. cardiovascular diseases, doctors advise the patients to firstly make changes to their lifestyle. This includes shifting your diet to less-fat products and regular exercises. Giving up bad habits like drinking and smoking plays an important part in deciding how quickly you will recover from the disease. Some popular medications like aspirin, diuretics, etc are very helpful in curing these diseases. If the medicines don’t suffice the need, you may have to opt for surgery (angioplasty), which may require bypass surgery sometimes.

In case of pumping defects (cardiomyopathy), the recommendation of majority of the doctors is to use ACE inhibitors. If the case is quite severe, use of pacemakers is suggested.

If there is some infection in a critical area of the heart, the first treatment is to use antibiotics. In next stages, surgery is required to repair the affected part of the heart which has been damaged due to infection.
